WATERCOLORS ON CANVAS; PEN AND INK ON PAPER | 8 Images

In the late 1960s and '70s, Erlich created a number of pen and ink drawings and colored paintings which combined influences from her syringe paitings and her metal sculpture. In the '90s she created watercolors that took on dimensions and shapes far different from the original sculptures.  Erlich didn't even know about the X-Men cartoons when she created the pieces. But years later, when she became aware of the X-Men, she named some of her work after X-Men characters.
